Why Next Path Exists
The problem we saw
The study abroad industry has a volume problem. Most consultancies optimise for throughput — process as many students as possible, funnel them into the same set of universities, move on to the next batch. Students become numbers on a spreadsheet, and the advice they receive is shaped by what’s easiest for the consultant, not what’s best for the student.
We’ve seen it from the inside. Students placed in programmes that don’t match their goals. Applications rushed because the intake deadline is tomorrow. Visa rejections that could have been avoided with 30 more minutes of attention. It’s not that other consultancies don’t care — they’re just built for scale, not for depth.
What we chose to build instead
Next Path Consultants is built differently by design. We’re a virtual-first team of independent counsellors and destination experts — each one a specialist in the countries and services they handle. No generic advice from someone who read a brochure last week. When you speak to our UK expert, you’re speaking to someone who understands the nuances of Russell Group vs post-92 universities, the Graduate Route, and why January intake might be smarter for your profile than September.
We deliberately chose not to build a large office with 50 counsellors handling 500 students. Our structure is lean, our team is carefully chosen, and every student gets attention that simply isn’t possible at scale.
How we sustain this
For most destinations — the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand — our services are completely free to the student. Universities compensate us for the students we place with them. This means our interests are naturally aligned with yours: we only succeed when you get into a university that genuinely fits you.
For destinations like Germany and the USA, or where the universities don’t compensate, we charge a transparent service fee — explaining the same to you upfront. No hidden costs, no upselling, no surprise charges midway through the process.
